In a recent episode of Star Trek the Next Generation, the android, Commander Data, is experimenting with dreaming. In his dream he sees some workmen attacking the warp conduit. He asks them to stop what they're doing but they ignore him. Data emits a high frequency sound and the workmen attack him.
In the meantime, back in the waking state, the star ship engineers are having problems with the warp core engine and the ship is going nowhere. They can't figure out what the problem is.
Data continues to experience variations of the nightmare even when he's awake. In one waking dream he sees something on Counsellor Troi's shoulder and tries to remove it and ends up injuring her.
To cut a long story short, the doctor discovers the ship and crew are under attack by some alien creatures that can only be seen under a particular light. If they don't get rid of these creatures their cells are going to disintegrate. The captain and the chief engineer discover the solution to their problem lies in Data's dreams/nightmares. When certain modifications are made to Data's system, he emits a high frequency sound that gets rid of the creatures.
I can very much relate to the high frequency sound that gets rid of anything that doesn't resonate. When I'm still I constantly hear a sound in my head. I believe the sound is the sound of my Soul that is constantly pumping out good feelings. If I'm feeling down I only need to listen to this sound and I'm feeling on top of the world.
Last night I went out with a friend who was sniffing and believed he was coming up with a cold. Later I felt my throat itching as if I was coming up with a cold. At home, I listened to the high pitch sound within me and I was fine. When I went to bed I was awake for hours listening to the sound, basking in its good feelings and sending my friend lots of love. Then I fell asleep. In the middle of the night I woke up feeling my nose bunged up. Again, I listened to the sound within and the congestion cleared up.
Thanks to the sound of my Soul, I am feeling good.
