Today is Valentine's Day when, traditionally, billions of people express their love for one another by exchanging tokens and gifts. Most people tend to focus on romantic love...and why not?
Speaking of romantic love, in last night's episode of Coronation Street, Steve and Jason decide to propose to Becky whom they both love.
The background story is when Jason split up from his wife, he started dating Becky. When things got really serious between them, Jason panicked and decided to reunite with his wife, but she had already moved on. Then Becky and Steve fell in love, even though he was already living with his girlfriend, Michelle. Steve was so smitten by Becky that he decided to leave Michelle but it took him a while to get his act together.
When Steve eventually dumped Michelle, most people couldn't understand why Steve would want to be with Becky. Michelle and Steve seemed so right for one another and made such a good team raising their kids. While Steve could have stayed with Michelle because it was the responsible thing to do for the kids, he decided to follow his heart instead. Unfortunately for Steve, Becky got tired of waiting for him to make up his mind and was now back with her former lover, Jason.
In last night's episode Steve tells his best friend that the reason why he loves Becky is because she is unpredictable and lights up his life. By the time Steve gets his act together to propose, Jason has got there first and done the deed. Becky accepts Jason's proposal. She later discovers that Steve had planned on proposing to her. Becky is going to have to decide which guy she really loves and wants to be with.
The love triangle in "Coronation Street" reminds me of a documentary I watched recently about elephants. Two bulls had a fight over the female elephant and one lost a tusk. The female had to choose which elephant she wanted to mate with. She chose the bull that had lost its tusk. While they were mating the other elephants gave their approval by trumpeting and waving their trunks. Once the mating had finished, the rest of the herd followed the bull around.
According to the previews on the "Coronation Street" website, Becky does end up choosing Steve over Jason. I would also choose Steve over Jason any day as Steve follows his heart.

Love motivates and inspires me every single moment.
Loves give me life.
Without love, life is meaningless.
