Imagine if someone tells you not to think of a pink elephant. The more you try to not think of a pink elephant the more you end up thinking of a pink elephant. The only way, I believe, to avoid thinking of a pink elephant is to not give it my attention.
Last year an advertising campaign was launched on buses all around the UK declaring there is no God. Apparently, the campaign was in opposition to religious adverts on buses. I happen to travel frequently on one of the bus routes. How ironic for someone who totally believes in God, though not necessarily the religious idea of one.
I see the ad campaign as a very good thing because I believe in freedom of expression for all. I believe everyone should have the space to express what they believe, regardless of whether I am in agreement or not.
As I see it, the advert is one sure way of magnifying God. By this I mean, whether you're arguing for or against God, you’re still thinking of God. Isn't God clever?
I reckon the advertisers are closet believers in God otherwise they wouldn't be giving God so much attention.
