The Greatest Day of My Life

When I woke up this morning I thought to myself:

"Today is the greatest day of my life. Thank you God for making this day the greatest day of my life."

As I got dressed I was filled with expectation about the greatness of the day filled with greater wonder than I've ever experienced in mind, body and affairs. I felt the world brimming with joy. I'm not only going to experience it alone but together, as we are all working together.

As I walked to the bus stop, I noticed the road was blocked and a couple of police officers standing at the end. A woman walking towards me advised me to use an alternative route, which I did. As I approached the bus stop I saw a bus standing there but it wasn't the one I wanted. I kept having a feeling that the other buses had been diverted. A woman appeared and told me the buses had been diverted and advised me to walk to the next stop. I noticed the bus I wanted to catch was already waiting at that stop. It would take me several minutes to get there. When I finally arrived at the stop, the bus was still waiting.

During the journey, a woman came in with a big bag that was taking up a lot of her legroom. I asked her if she wanted to swap seats with me so she could store her bag near the window. She agreed and thanked me. A man in front kept looking back at me. When the woman with the bag left, I moved back to my original position. The man in front asked me what the time was and then swapped seats and sat next to me. For the rest of the journey we had a nice chat about life. He told me he'd never met anyone like me that's so easy to talk to. He said he felt he's known me forever. I told him I had been expecting this day to be great and he's part of that greatness. He told me how much he likes me and my lips in particular. When he asked me out, I told him I wasn't available but was enjoying being with him. He even held my hands. Before we parted company, I kissed his cheeks and wished him a great day.

When I arrived at the library I met a woman, a writer who usually comes to do her work there. She said she'd left her glasses at home and was on her way to get them. She asked if I could look after her stuff as she didn't want to carry them with her. I was happy to oblige.

That's what happens when I expect to have the greatest day of my life, the Universe arranges situations and makes it so not just for me, but for everyone, if they are open to share in the wonder.

I look forward to the greatest afternoon and the greatest night of my life.

I expect tomorrow to be the greatest day of my life.
