Yesterday I had a reunion with my uncle (my mother's older brother) whom I haven't seen in over 26 years. He was on his way home to Sierra Leone after visiting his daughter in Los Angeles. He was only in London for one night.
My older brother and my mother picked him up at the airport and he stayed the night at my brother's place. The next day, yesterday, my brother and mother drove him to the airport and I decided to join them.
It was wonderful seeing my uncle again in person. Though he's got a lot older, he's still the same. We sat at the back of the car holding hands like lovers, while he shared some of his life experiences with me. You know me, I love stories.
I love you, uncle.
